Jazz, Blues and Classical Music

Jazz is a genre born out of African American communities in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It’s characterized by improvisation, syncopation, and a rich blend of musical influences. Blues is a genre rooted in African American musical traditions. It’s known for its emotive lyrics, often expressing sorrow, resilience, or the human condition. Blues typically follows a twelve-bar structure and is marked by soulful vocals and expressive guitar playing. It has greatly influenced many other genres, including rock and roll and jazz. Some notable music artists in this genre include B.B. King, Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters.

Classical music refers to a genre encompassing centuries of Western art music. It spans various periods like Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary. Classical music is known for its structured compositions, often performed by orchestras or smaller ensembles. It covers a vast range of emotions, styles, and forms, showcasing complexity and beauty in its compositions. Some notable music artists in this genre include Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Sebastian Bach.
