Grease, which hit screens in 1978, offers a gently satiric look back at the allegedly simpler '50s, when couples like John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John might woo each other with fizzy pop delicacies like "You're the One That I Want". And while rock 'n' roll revivalists Sha Na Na supply six solid cover versions, originals like Travolta's doleful "Sandy", Frankie Avalon's winking "Beauty School Dropout" and Frankie Valli's effervescent title track are what make this nostalgia trip a keeper.
