Karl Hyde and Rick Smith developed the album's material before collaborating with producers including Dubfire, High Contrast, Appleblim, Paul van Dyk, Mark Knight and D. Ramirez, bringing new textures and perspectives to Underworld's hypnotic electronic sound.

Featuring Always Loved A Film, Scribble, Bird 1, Diamond Jigsaw and Moon In Water, Barking moves between euphoric progressive house, techno, breakbeat and atmospheric electronica.
