For decades, legend maintained that bassist Dave Alexander—overcome by nerves or intoxication—failed to play a single note during the concert and was dismissed by Iggy Pop immediately afterwards. The discovery of this complete soundboard recording in the basement of a Michigan farmhouse tells a more complicated story: Alexander can clearly be heard playing, delivering particularly strong performances on the bass-driven “Dirt” and “Fun House.”

The Stooges tear through their landmark 1970 album Fun House in its entirety, preserving the raw power and volatility of the band at a pivotal moment in its history. It is also the only known soundboard recording of the original line-up.
