The Cramps Gravest Gravy

Gravest Gravy unearths a previously unreleased collection of recordings from The Cramps’ legendary October 1977 sessions at Ardent Studios in Memphis with producer Alex Chilton.
Captured during the same sessions that produced the band’s earliest singles and material for Gravest Hits, these raw performances find Lux Interior, Poison Ivy, Bryan Gregory and Nick Knox forging their unmistakable collision of rockabilly, garage rock, surf, punk and horror-culture obsession. The collection includes unheard covers of “Hungry,” “Problem Child” and “Rocket in My Pocket,” alongside early versions of songs later featured on Psychedelic Jungle.
Selected and mixed by Lux Interior and Poison Ivy during the late 1980s, the recordings remained shelved until now. Cut from the original analogue source tapes and newly mastered, Gravest Gravy is presented on limited coloured vinyl with a printed insert.
