Description

Originally released on December 3, 1965, Rubber Soul is The Beatles’ sixth studio album and a pivotal work in the band’s creative evolution. Featuring classics including “Drive My Car,” “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown),” “Nowhere Man,” “Michelle,” “Girl” and “In My Life,” the album found the group expanding its songwriting, instrumentation and studio techniques.

This Special Edition Super Deluxe vinyl box set explores the album across five LPs and a double A-side 7-inch single. It includes the new stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, 26 session recordings and demos across two LPs, the original mono album, the original Capitol US version of Rubber Soul, and the non-album single “Day Tripper” backed with “We Can Work It Out.”

The new stereo mix and session recordings are half-speed mastered, while all five LPs are pressed on 180g heavyweight black vinyl and housed in individual sleeves with poly-lined inner sleeves.

Also included is an 88-page hardback book featuring a foreword by John Lennon, an introduction by Paul McCartney, photographs, detailed album history and track-by-track notes. The complete collection is housed in a 12-inch slipcase.
