Originally released on December 3, 1965, Rubber Soul is The Beatles’ sixth studio album and a pivotal work in the band’s creative evolution. Featuring enduring songs including “Drive My Car,” “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown),” “Nowhere Man,” “Michelle” and “In My Life,” the album found the group expanding its songwriting and studio experimentation.
This Special Edition Deluxe 2LP presents Rubber Soul in a new stereo mix by producer Giles Martin and Sam Okell. The second record features 16 highlights from the album’s recording sessions, including demos, instrumental backing tracks and early versions that offer a deeper insight into the development of the songs. Also included are the non-album single “Day Tripper” and “We Can Work It Out,” presented in both developmental and finished forms.
Both records are half-speed mastered and pressed on 180g heavyweight black vinyl. The set is housed in a gatefold sleeve and includes a four-page insert.
