The Avalanches No Bad Memories
Couldn't load pickup availability
On their fourth album, No Bad Memories, The Avalanches explore the strange and magical intersection of advertising, technology, memory and nostalgia. Commercial jingles, sonic logos, start-up chimes and other forgotten sounds are transformed into warm, euphoric portals to childhood and collective memory.
The album unfolds as a characteristically kaleidoscopic Avalanches journey, brought to life with an extraordinary cast of collaborators spanning generations and genres. Jamie xx, Barry Can’t Swim, Karen O, Rivers Cuomo, Carly Simon, Panda Bear, Vegyn, John Glacier, Haruomi Hosono, Mike Patton and many more appear across its 28 tracks.
Playful, emotional and conceptually ambitious, No Bad Memories asks what happens when the supposedly disposable sounds of consumer culture become some of the most enduring sounds we carry with us.
This limited edition is pressed across two 180g Yellow vinyl LPs and presented in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and a booklet. “Evergreen Altar” is exclusive to the album’s physical formats.
