Talk Talk’s The Colour Of Spring celebrates its 40th anniversary with this remastered stereo edition on 180g vinyl, cut at half-speed by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios. The mastering was overseen by the band’s drummer Lee Harris and Charlie Hollis, son of frontman Mark Hollis.
The band’s third studio album marks a pivotal stage in their evolution, expanding beyond the synth-pop of The Party’s Over and It’s My Life towards a more organic, exploratory sound. Rich instrumentation, expressive vocals and spacious arrangements give the songs both immediacy and depth.
Featuring “Life’s What You Make It”, “Living In Another World” and “Give It Up”, the album balances memorable melodies with the quieter experimentation of “April 5th” and “Chameleon Day”. The Colour Of Spring captures Talk Talk opening new musical possibilities and laying the foundations for Spirit Of Eden.
