The self-titled debut album from Sydney post-punk collective Station Model Violence arrives as one of Australia's most anticipated underground releases of 2026. Featuring former and current members of Total Control, R.M.F.C., Den, The Lewers, Gaud and Diat, the album draws together some of the most exciting voices from Australia's contemporary punk and experimental music scenes.

Born from a desire to create something new following years of lockdowns, stalled projects and shifting cities, Station Model Violence emerged from a series of demos written by R.M.F.C.'s Buz Clatworthy and vocalist DX. What began as a handful of songs quickly evolved into a full band and ultimately a densely layered debut album shaped by shared influences, collaboration and a commitment to pushing beyond conventional post-punk boundaries.

The result is a record steeped in atmosphere and tension, balancing driving rhythms, jagged guitars and hypnotic repetition with moments of unexpected beauty and what the band affectionately describes as "pastoral psychedelicism." Echoes of post-punk, krautrock and underground Australian guitar music run throughout, creating a sound that feels both familiar and entirely its own.

The album's lead single, Heat, serves as a perfect introduction to the band's aesthetic – immersive, propulsive and richly textured. Recorded across Melbourne and Sydney and mixed by acclaimed producer and musician Mikey Young, the album captures the energy and ambition of a group determined to forge a new path from some of Australia's most respected underground musical lineages.
