Skegss – Top Heavy marks a spontaneous and exciting new chapter for the Byron Bay trio, released to coincide with the anniversary of their album Pacific Highway Music. This limited edition EP arrives on striking zoetrope design vinyl, featuring artwork by Jack Irvine that brings the record to life as it spins.

Capturing the band in a moment of creative freedom, Top Heavy showcases a fresh sonic direction through recent singles “So Excited” and “State of Hawaii”, pushing beyond even the sound of their latest full-length release. The songs were written and recorded quickly, embracing instinct and immediacy rather than overthinking the process.

As frontman Benny Reed explains, the EP came together organically, with several tracks forming on the spot and recorded while the energy was still raw. The result is a fun, vibrant release that highlights Skegss at their most playful and unfiltered — a snapshot of a band following their momentum wherever it leads.
