Shady Nasty TREK

Sydney trio Shady Nasty deliver their long-awaited debut album TREK, a striking collision of punk, post-punk, experimental rock and electronic textures shaped by the band's distinctly Australian perspective.

Made up of Kevin Stathis, Haydn Green and Luca Watson, Shady Nasty draw on formal backgrounds in jazz and classical music while pushing those foundations into far less conventional territory. Their sound exists in a world of modded cars, immigrant heritage, digital obsession and Sydney's urban sprawl, with influences including King Krule and Low Life absorbed and reshaped into something unmistakably their own.

Produced by Kim Moyes of The Presets, TREK expands on the immersive world-building established across the band's earlier Bad Posture and CLUBSMOKE EPs. Textured, restless and exploratory, the album grapples with the realities of trying to stay financially and creatively afloat in Sydney while refusing to compromise artistically.

Shady Nasty's distinctive harbour-city twang and left-field approach have already attracted attention from The Guardian, NME, Kerrang!, Stereogum, VICE and triple j Unearthed, while TREK has received further support from fbi.radio and RTR FM. The trio have also shared stages with the likes of Skeleten, Shame, High Vis, Ho99o9, Sleaford Mods and Amyl and The Sniffers, building a devoted following within Sydney's underground along the way.
