Originally released in 2017, Soulmatic is the debut studio album from Purple Disco Machine, the acclaimed project of Dresden producer Tino Piontek. Blending classic disco, funk and house with polished contemporary production, the album established his distinctive sound and laid the foundation for his international success.
Soulmatic is driven by crisp beats, elastic basslines, warm synths and carefully arranged strings and guitars. Highlights include the swaggering “Body Funk,” which draws upon samples from The Strikers’ “Body Music” and Sylvester’s “Dance (Disco Heat),” alongside “Devil In Me,” featuring Joe Killington and celebrated house vocalist Duane Harden.
Moving effortlessly between vocal-led tracks and club-focused instrumentals, the album captures the energy of a carefully constructed DJ set while retaining a strong sense of melody, musicianship and soul. It remains an essential release for fans of modern disco and house music.
