Pixies Trompe Le Monde

Originally released in 1991, Trompe Le Monde completed Pixies’ extraordinary run of four influential studio albums and brought the first chapter of the band’s career to a close. Its title translates from French as “fool the world,” reflecting a record that remained restless, unpredictable and determined to push the group’s sound forward.
Working once again with producer Gil Norton, Pixies deliver 15 tracks in a rapid-fire collision of alternative rock, power pop and the space-rock experimentation established on Bossanova. Black Francis fills the album with UFOs, conspiracy theories and surreal imagery, while tracks such as “Planet Of Sound,” “Alec Eiffel,” “Letter To Memphis” and “Motorway To Roswell” capture the band at their most urgent and playful.
For this 2026 reissue, engineer Kevin Vanbergen returned to the original analogue tapes to create a newly remastered edition with renewed depth and detail. The album is pressed on standard black vinyl.
