Neil Young Tonight's the Night

Neil Young’s Tonight’s The Night is one of the most powerful and emotionally raw albums in his catalogue. Recorded largely in 1973 following the enormous success of Harvest, the album was held back for two years before finally being released in 1975.
Dedicated to Young’s close friends Danny Whitten and Bruce Berry, who had both died before the sessions, Tonight’s The Night channels grief, exhaustion and loss into a deliberately loose and deeply human collection of songs. Recorded on analogue tape, its unpolished performances became an essential part of the album’s distinctive character.
The two versions of the title track bookend a remarkable set that includes “Speakin’ Out,” “World On A String,” “Borrowed Tune,” “Mellow My Mind,” “Albuquerque,” “Tired Eyes” and “Roll Another Number (For The Road),” alongside “Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown.”
Following the 50th Anniversary reissue, Reprise Records returns this landmark Neil Young album to the standard single-LP format.
