King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard return to their officially sanctioned Bootlegger Series with Skull X-Ray, released through Having Fun Records and drawn from the band’s 2025 performances at Field of Vision.
Inspired by the haunting history of Soviet-era “bone music” records—underground recordings pressed onto discarded medical X-rays—this live release transforms the Bootlegger concept into a macabre archival artefact. The set captures the band tearing through the interconnected I’m in Your Mind Fuzz suite before moving into the intricate progressive-rock trilogy of “Inner Cell,” “Loyalty” and “Horology.”
This Deluxe Edition is presented as a translucent, one-sided picture disc featuring the image of a human skull, creating a striking visual tribute to the X-ray records that inspired it.
