King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Alien Metal

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard push further into electronic territory with Alien Metal, the Australian band’s 28th studio album.

Emerging from the electronic “rave shows” the group began performing in 2025, the album transforms those live experiments into a focused studio statement built largely around Eurorack modular synthesisers. Rather than approaching dance music as a brief detour, King Gizzard embrace its darker and more propulsive edges, creating a record driven by hypnotic rhythms, machine-like textures and futuristic energy.

Across a concise eight-track sequence—including “Sapience,” “Alien Metal” and “Level 5”—the band channels the spontaneity of its live performances into an immersive collision of electronic sound and physical intensity. It is another striking reinvention from a group whose restless creativity continues to carry its music into unexpected territory.
