Description
Justin Hurwitz’s original score derives inspiration from the film’s jazz club settings. Hip vibraphone and acoustic bass introduce “Classic Rope-a-Dope” before muted brass and a pirouetting flute join in on the swanky fun. In “Mia & Sebastian’s Theme”, the romantic feel is strewn with bravura piano improvisations, hinting at an appreciation for Art Tatum. The film’s Hollywood elegance is emphasised with orchestral interludes, as on the grand and swooning “Planetarium”.
