Floating Points Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra Promises

Originally released in 2021, Promises brings together electronic composer and producer Floating Points, legendary spiritual-jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra for a singular 46-minute musical journey.

Built around a recurring seven-note motif, the album unfolds gradually across nine connected movements. Sam Shepherd’s delicate electronics and keyboards provide the foundation for Sanders’ expressive saxophone, while the London Symphony Orchestra adds sweeping strings and orchestral depth. Meditative, spacious and deeply moving, Promises blurs the boundaries between spiritual jazz, ambient electronics, minimalism and contemporary classical music.

This limited fifth-anniversary edition is pressed on Abiogenesis Blue/Green coloured vinyl and presented in a die-cut gatefold sleeve featuring artwork by acclaimed artist Julie Mehretu.
