Fletcher Would You Still Love Me If You Really Knew Me?

The concept for FLETCHER’s third album, Would You Still Love Me If You Really Knew Me?, came to her while touring in support of her sophomore effort, In Search of the Antidote. The New Jersey-born singer began to wonder who, exactly, she was making music for. With this 2025 LP, she aimed to wrestle agency back from oblivion and make a project that would provide satisfaction on its own terms, in its own time. FLETCHER is satisfied in ruminating on these weighty philosophical questions, finding as much joy in reflecting on the puzzling nature of happiness as in the feeling itself. Opener “Party” is a piano-driven pop ballad buoyed by FLETCHER’s powerful voice. She sings of champagne bottles that have gone flat after having been left open too long. The festivities have ended and there’s no one left to clean up the mess. Elsewhere, on “Chaos”, she opts for a simple arrangement of contemplative acoustic guitar chords, allowing plenty of room for her to reflect on her phone calls with God, in which she admits that she doesn’t know what she’s doing. That, in and of itself, is reason enough for FLETCHER to keep singing.
