Eves Karydas Summerskin

Queensland-born Hannah Karydas first released music in 2015 as Eves The Behavior, but began performing under her real surname after moving to London in 2017. She reflects on her relocation throughout her debut album, summerskin: On “Balance”, she sings, “Migrating bird in a new land/I know I needed more/That’s what the sky is for.” Musically, too, Karydas found inspiration and fresh perspective in her new surrounds. Where her Eves The Behavior music erred toward a darker, moody sound, here her electro-pop songs are more colourful and playful (“Further than the Planes Fly”). Lyrically, she focuses on love and obsession in “Damn Loyal” and “Couch”, while the confidence gained from moving across the globe imbues “Hush”: “I’ll put myself first/I’ll be the one talking.”
