Originally released in 1991, Schubert Dip launched EMF onto the international stage with its infectious collision of dance, rock and pop. Led by the worldwide smash “Unbelievable,” the album also produced the hit singles “I Believe,” “Lies” and “Children,” capturing the genre-defying energy that made the British group one of the era’s most distinctive acts.
Formed in Cinderford in the Forest of Dean, EMF featured vocalist James Atkin, guitarist Ian Dench, keyboardist Derry Brownson, bassist Zac Foley and drummer Mark Decloedt. Their debut channelled club rhythms, distorted guitars, samples and instantly memorable hooks into a sound that remains closely associated with the early 1990s alternative dance scene.
Celebrating the album’s 35th anniversary, this expanded deluxe edition presents the complete original album on LP1 and eight band-selected remixes across LP2. The limited set is pressed on transparent orange and green vinyl and includes newly designed lyric inner sleeves plus new sleeve notes featuring quotes from Ian Dench and James Atkin.
