DICE I Thought The Altitude Would Make it Worth The View

Perth indie-rock outfit DICE return with their sophomore album, I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View, an ambitious step forward that sees the band expanding their sound while retaining the energy and immediacy that first built their following.

For their second album, DICE traded the raw grit of their debut for the surroundings of Hollywood's legendary EastWest Studios, working with acclaimed producer Joe Chiccarelli, whose credits include The White Stripes and The Shins.

The result is a recalibration of the band's sonic identity. Punchy synths, layered production and expansive textures now sit alongside the infectious guitars and kinetic energy familiar from early fan favourites such as Double Espresso. Bigger and more adventurous in scope, the record captures DICE stretching beyond their foundations without losing the sense of momentum at the heart of their music.

At its core, I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View is a record about perspective, self-reflection and liberation — the musical equivalent of driving with the windows down while trying to work out where you've been and where you're heading next. It's the sound of a young Australian band confidently pushing into new territory and finding their own altitude.
