Originally released in August 1985, David Bowie and Mick Jagger’s exuberant cover of the Motown classic “Dancing in the Street” brought together two of rock music’s greatest performers for their only recorded collaboration.
Completed in a single day, both the recording and its memorably energetic music video capture Bowie and Jagger trading vocals, dance moves and playful theatrics. Released in support of the Live Aid famine-relief campaign, the single became a worldwide hit and reached number one in the UK.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, this limited edition 12-inch brings together the song’s principal mixes for the first time on one release. Newly remastered and pressed at 45RPM on 180g white vinyl, it includes the Clearmountain Mix, instrumental version, Steve Thompson Mix, single edit and dub.
