Daft Punk Alive 1997

Alive 1997 is the first live album from Daft Punk, capturing the French electronic pioneers at their raw, club-focused best during their first European tour.

Recorded live at Birmingham's Que Club on 8 November 1997, the album presents approximately 45 minutes of continuous live mixing from the duo's groundbreaking Homework era. Rather than simply recreating their studio recordings, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo manipulate, combine and reshape tracks in real time, capturing the intensity and spontaneity that made Daft Punk's early performances so distinctive.

The set draws heavily from Homework, incorporating material including Da Funk, Rollin' & Scratchin' and Alive into a relentless blend of house, techno and acid-inflected electronics. It offers a fascinating snapshot of Daft Punk before their famous robot personas became synonymous with the group — stripped back, uncompromising and built squarely for the dancefloor.
