The final release in Cymande’s original trilogy, Promised Heights (1974) cements the band’s legacy as pioneers of genre-blending soul, funk, jazz, and Caribbean rhythm. This opaque pink vinyl reissue brings renewed life to a deep-cut classic that has only grown in influence since its release.
From the hypnotic grooves of “Brothers on the Slide” to the meditative warmth of “Changes,” Cymande’s third LP flows with spiritual positivity, political awareness, and infectious rhythm. The band’s signature blend of Afro-Caribbean syncopation, funk-laced basslines, and laid-back vocal harmonies shines through in every track — radiating timeless cool and social consciousness.
Lovingly reissued for collectors and new listeners alike, this edition offers a fresh, vibrant spin on an essential soul-funk record that continues to inspire generations of artists and crate diggers.
