Originally released in 2002, A Rush of Blood to the Head is the second studio album from Coldplay and the record that established the band as one of the defining British acts of their generation.
Produced by Coldplay and Ken Nelson, the album expanded upon the intimate sound of Parachutes with sweeping guitars, atmospheric piano and emotionally charged songwriting. Featuring “In My Place,” “The Scientist,” “Clocks” and “God Put a Smile Upon Your Face,” it moves effortlessly between quiet reflection and soaring, stadium-sized rock.
The album earned Coldplay three Grammy Awards, including Best Alternative Music Album, while “Clocks” received Record of the Year. Its combination of memorable melodies, expressive performances and emotional depth has made it one of the band’s most enduring releases.
For the first time, A Rush of Blood to the Head is manufactured as a 140g EcoRecord using 100% recyclable PET instead of traditional PVC. Produced using injection-moulding technology, EcoRecord manufacturing offers energy savings of up to 85% compared with conventional vinyl production.
This reissue is presented in a gatefold sleeve.
