Bonobo returns with Distance In Static, the new album from Simon Green and his first full-length release since 2022’s acclaimed Fragments.

Released via Ninja Tune, Distance In Static continues to expand Bonobo’s sonic world, blending organic instrumentation, intricate electronic production and influences drawn from across the globe.

Green collaborates with Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis (Hundred Waters) and Aanya Martin. Lyrics in English, Urdu and Japanese sit alongside historic Iranian samples and guzheng recordings, creating a richly textured and immersive listening experience.

Recorded across Los Angeles, Tokyo, London and beyond, with a significant portion completed at Neil Young’s Broken Arrow Ranch in California, the album brings together emotive songwriting and the detailed, atmospheric production that has become Bonobo’s signature.

This edition is pressed on 140g pastel blue vinyl across two LPs, housed in a 6mm-spined sleeve with printed inner sleeves, an art-paper insert and artwork postcards. Design and art direction are by Trevor Jackson. Includes an MP3 download code.
