Bob Evans Suburban Songbook

Bob Evans’ acclaimed Suburban Songbook returns to vinyl in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Originally released in 2006, the album marked a breakthrough for the solo project of Jebediah frontman Kevin Mitchell and established Bob Evans as one of Australia’s most distinctive singer-songwriters.

Recorded in Nashville, Suburban Songbook pairs warm acoustic pop and folk influences with Mitchell’s melodic songwriting and observations of everyday life. The album features enduring favourites including “Don’t You Think It’s Time,” “Friend,” “Nowhere Without You” and “Sadness & Whiskey.”

The record went on to win the 2006 ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album and remains a defining release in the Bob Evans catalogue. Two decades later, its intimate songwriting and memorable melodies continue to resonate with Australian audiences.
