Originally released in 2010, Nightmare is the fifth studio album from Avenged Sevenfold and one of the most powerful and emotionally charged releases in the band’s catalogue.
Created following the tragic passing of founding drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, the album is dedicated to his memory and explores themes of grief, mortality and despair. Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy stepped in to complete the drum recordings, working alongside producer Mike Elizondo and renowned mixing engineer Andy Wallace.
Blending heavy metal, hard rock and metalcore with soaring melodies, intricate guitar solos and cinematic arrangements, Nightmare features fan favourites including the explosive title track, “Welcome To The Family,” “Buried Alive” and “So Far Away.”
