Originally released in 2007, Avenged Sevenfold’s self-titled fourth album marked a bold evolution in the band’s sound. Moving beyond their metalcore roots, the group embraced classic hard rock and heavy metal while experimenting with orchestral strings, horns, piano, choir arrangements and dramatic studio effects.
