Airbourne return at full throttle with their self-titled sixth studio album, a celebration of the loud, uncompromising rock ’n’ roll that has made the Australian band a formidable live force around the world. As the band puts it, Airbourne distils everything they stand for into one record: huge riffs, pounding drums and songs built to be played loud.

The album reunites Airbourne with producer Brian Howes, who previously worked with the band on Black Dog Barking, alongside engineer Mike Fraser, whose credits with Airbourne include No Guts. No Glory. and Breakin’ Outta Hell. Recorded at Music Farm Studio near Byron Bay using the original Neve console from Sydney’s legendary Alberts Studios, the sessions tap directly into the heritage of Australian hard rock.

“Alive After Death” and “Send Me To Rock’N’Roll Heaven” pay tribute to departed rock legends including Lemmy, Doc Neeson, John Bonham, Bon Scott and Little Richard, while “Bogota” draws on life on the road. Elsewhere, “Last Man Standing,” “Hell’s Got No Vacancy” and “Gutsy” deliver Airbourne’s familiar message of defiance, resilience and never backing down.

Mixed by Zakk Cervini, Airbourne captures the sweat, energy and sheer volume of the band at their most direct and explosive.
