Description
Like Run the Jewels on The Mountain Will Fall, DJ Shadow’s collaborators are the seething heart and soul of the companion EP to his 2017 album. Danny Brown’s unhinged, high-pitched snarl is the perfect counterpoint to the lurching funfair beats of “Horror Show”; British film composer Steven Price brings widescreen drama to the cut-and-scratch brutalism of “Corridors”. Best of all is Nas, whose intricate rhymes and fiery delivery make the staccato guitar plucks of “Systematic” feel even more urgent: “Let’s occupy all streets”, indeed.
